Each mark is an outlet. The lit ones bought something this month. Two thirds of a typical distribution network goes dark in any given period — and most reporting never shows you which two thirds.

Three links in the chain. Most reporting measures the one that moves least.

Primary sales rise when stock is pushed into the channel, which is why a quarter can close well and the market can still be soft. Warehouse stock comes first, and the retailer-to-consumer link is only visible where modern trade and e-commerce record it.

  1. 01Primary

    Company to distributor

Stock leaves the depot. Every ERP already reports this, and it tells you what you dispatched.

  2. 02Secondary

    Distributor to retailer

Stock reaches the counter. This is what the platform measures, and it is the closest honest signal of what the market absorbed.

  3. 03Tertiary

    Retailer to consumer

Stock leaves the shelf. Capturable in modern trade and e-commerce, and almost never in general trade — which is most of India.

Built for the questions a sales review actually asks

Secondary sales intelligence

Distributor-to-retailer billing across region, channel, brand, pack and SKU — drilling to ASM and salesman, with the comparison period always in view.

  • ECO, TLSD, ABV, VPO and VPD
  • Region to ASM to salesman
  • Brand contribution waterfall

Distribution footprint

Numeric and weighted distribution against the outlets you could be billing, with coverage gaps named rather than averaged away.

  • Outlet coverage and gaps
  • Town-wise census view
  • Household penetration

Sales loss

What running dry actually cost, quantified from each line's own run rate before the gap — not a rule of thumb applied to a total.

  • Days-of-cover buckets
  • Distributor risk map
  • Stock ageing and stockout trend

Traceable to the invoice

Every figure resolves to the sale lines behind it. A headline can never contradict the panel beside it, because both are computed from the same query.

Built for the Indian trade

April-to-March fiscal periods, general and modern trade, wholesale and rural channels, and pack bands from sachet to value pack.

Scoped to the reader

A sales head sees the country, an ASM sees their area, a distributor sees their own performance. One platform, three truthful views.

Ask the data

Plain-language answers composed from the same figures the charts read, under the filters already applied, each pointing at where to go and see it.

Modules

Seven, sharing one filter set and one definition of every metric — so a figure does not change meaning when you move between them.

  • Sales

Secondary sales, regional, product and distributor performance

  • Distribution

Numeric and weighted distribution, outlet coverage and gaps

  • Inventory

Days of cover, stockouts, ageing and sales loss

  • Retailers

    Segmentation, churn and outlet growth

  • Products

SKU analytics, pack bands and assortment

  • Marketing

Campaign lift and return on spend

  • Analytics

    Forecasting, anomaly detection and scenarios

Questions

How is this different from the reporting we already have?
Most FMCG reporting measures primary sales, because that is what the ERP books. Primary tells you what you dispatched to distributors; it goes up when you push stock into the channel and says nothing about whether it sold. This measures the secondary link — distributor to retailer — which is where the market actually responds.
What does it need from us to run?
Secondary billing at invoice-line grain, your distributor and outlet masters, and a product master with pack sizes. Primary sales, field-visit logs and panel data each add a module but none of them are required to start.
Can distributors see their own numbers?
Yes, and it is usually where the value lands fastest. Views are role-scoped, so a distributor sees their own performance against the network without seeing anyone else's.
Is the AI going to make figures up?
No, because it does not generate figures. The assistant answers a fixed set of questions by reading the same aggregates the dashboards read, under whatever filters are applied, then writes a sentence around them. Free-text questions are not enabled.
Where does the data sit?
PostgreSQL, in your environment. The whole platform runs on two modest virtual machines — this is not a product that needs a cluster to answer a question about last month.
